Ryanair have announced that from the end of 2019 Alicante Airport will have five new flights per week to London Southend Airport and another two to Cork.
The airline also announced 96,000 additional seats on its 11 pre-existing routes from Alicante, five of which are to the UK. Among the operator’s other new European winter destinations from Alicante are Porto, Marseille and Toulouse which will each be serviced by two weekly flights.
The frequency of the existing routes to Edinburgh, Gothenburg, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester and Poznan, will also be increased. The announcement follows Ryanair's revelation that this summer it will run two weekly flights to Bordeaux and an additional three to Munich.
Following these latest additions to its winter calendar, the airline expects to transport over 4.9 million passengers through Alicante per year, an increase of 14%.
